A. Cannabinoids like tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD) are chemical compounds produced by the cannabis plant. There over 80 known diverse phytocannabinoids. THC is the only known psychoactive cannabinoid. CBD actually modulates the psychoactive effects of THC on the CB1 receptors in our brains. CBD has recently been getting a lot of positive attention from the research and medical community.
These groups of chemicals regulate homeostasis in our bodies. They do this by interacting with a network of receptors found extensively throughout our immune, digestive, reproductive, central, and peripheral nervous systems. These interactions in our mammalian Endocannabinoid System are what give cannabinoids medicinal value.
A. Check the legal status in your state. We can legally ship to you but your state may have specific laws against CBD products. We ship all products in discreet packaging marked from "Shipping Department" to all 50 states and over 40 countries.
Please check the laws and regulations where you live before ordering. Although we ship discreetly, as a small business we cannot bear the responsibility if your package is confiscated by customs or authorities.
A. Everyone is different and so is every drug test. We cannot say whether or not this product will show up positive on any given test. We recommend consulting a medical professional before using these products. Since CBD is not psychoactive you may be able to get the okay from your employer if your doctor recommends the use of cannabidiol. Check the legal status in your state. We can legally ship to you but your state may have specific laws against CBD products.
A. Hemp oil is the oil produced from several parts of the hemp plant. Oil from the flowers, leaves and stems of the plant are extracted either mechanically or chemically with great care and precision. This ensures that a broad range of cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids innate to hemp form a potent, phytocannabinoid rich (PCR), oil or tincture. Hemp is rich in phytonutrients. According to the US Department of Health & Human Services cannabinoids have antioxidative and neuroprotective properties which are retained and concentrated during the extraction process. Cannabinoids also work with our mammalian Endocannabinoid System (ECS), which is a network of receptors in our brain and immune system that help us adapt to change and maintain homeostasis. Hempseed oil does not have the cannabinoid compounds found in the other parts of the plant but is rich in healthy fatty acids.
A. We are not allowed to make specific claims or general claims about the health benefits of these products. That said, we have compiled several studies that can help you determine whether or not you think you can benefit from cannabidiol. Sunshine Hemp Co. also collaborates with a medical doctor and a microbiologist to determine what cannabidiol products we deem beneficial for our friends, families, and communities. We also recommend watching the docu-series done by the folks at The Sacred Plant. If you are seeking specific remedies for specific ailments you may find their information beneficial. Also, feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns. We'll get back to you right away.
A. Cannabidiol is natural but always check with a medical professional before you start anything new.
A. Read our helpful guide: Where Do I Start? Everyone is different and cannabidiol effects everyone differently. We recommend starting low and increasing based on your needs. Less is more. Everyone should start dosing low and gradually increase their dose over the course of a few days. Once you find your "sweet spot" maintain dosing at that level. Eventually your preferred dose may have less of an effect than normal. It's called the "Biphasic Effect." At a certain point a high dose will not yield the desired effect. If this happens try taking less or just take a break and resume your normal dose again in 1-3 days. As usual always consult with a medical professional when starting anything new. Our suggestions are based on personal experience and personal medical professional consultations, and are not a substitute for medical advice and have not been approved by the FDA.
As far as milligrams are concerned, the higher number of milligrams in a product means it contains a greater amount of cannabidiol (CBD). If a 1oz bottle says it has 500mg that means the entire bottle contains 500 milligrams of active cannabidiol. You divide 500mg by the amount of servings to determine how many milligrams you receive in each dose. We've broken the math down for you:
As a general rule a 1oz or 30ml tincture has approximately 900 drops. Each serving is approximately 15 drops. There are 60 servings in a 1oz tincture.
If a tincture is 500mg do the following:
500mg divided by 60 servings = 8.33mg (approximately). So every 15 drops contains approximately 8.33mg.
A. The Endocannabinoid System (ECS) is something you may have heard of in your research on how CBD works. It's a system that helps us adapt to change. Our bodies naturally make endogenous cannabinoids aka "endocannabinoids" that stimulate receptors called endogenous cannabinoid receptors located in our brains and throughout our bodies and immune system. These interactions help our bodies maintain homeostasis and affect mood, memory, pain, and appetite.
CB1 receptors interact primarily in our brains, although they are located throughout our bodies. CB2 receptors mainly work within our immune system. Cannabidiol aka "CBD" is just one phytocannabinoid (a cannabinoid compound found naturally in a plant) that interacts with our endogenous cannabinoid receptors. Tetrahydrocannabinol aka "THC" is a cannabinoid that triggers a strong psychoactive response when interacting with the CB1 receptors in our brains.
Large amounts of THC can overstimulate our CB1 receptors causing paranoia and anxiety. CBD actually modulates that overstimulation.
Recently CBD has gained much interest from scientists and researchers for its having no psychoactive effects and containing many healing properties.
A. The Entourage Effect relating to cannabis is the sum of all parts of the plant working together synergistically for medicinal value. Terpenes, phytocannabinoids, and flavonoids all influence each other while at work in our Endocannabinoid System (ECS).
Our medicinal hemp products contain a full spectrum of phytocannabinoids. To maintain legal status we do not carry anything with more than .3% of the phytocannabinoid tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). The products are not psychoactive and contain a legal amount of THC that works synergistically with CBD and other phytocannabinoids.
A. There are a lot of options when choosing CBD. We've created a guide to help you: Where Do I Start? Really it boils down to personal preference, quality of the product, and experience. It will effect everyone differently depending on metabolism, age, weight, and experience level.
My first time using CBD was a little nerve wracking. I was desperate to replace my anti anxiety medication as it clouded my mind - giving me more anxiety just thinking of taking it! I started off taking our Blue Label Strong Hemp Oil Extract. Eventually, I started trying other products and I can honestly say they've all helped me. Beware, some companies white label products and charge way too much for the same thing.
Generally you can tell how strong a product is by the milligrams of CBD listed on the label. For example our 1000mg Clarify tincture has 1000mg of CBD per bottle. That's pretty concentrated. It's a great value because you can take less volume and get maximum CBD intake. We always recommend starting with a little - wait about 5-10 mins - if you're not feeling the results - take a little more - repeat. We've simplified the trial and error for you by offering an affordable CBD Sample. Try CBD for $13.
A. We've compiled several studies to help guide you in furthering your knowledge about the possible benefits and wellness applications of cannabidiol.
